Membership

If the local church is the embassy of God’s Kingdom on earth, then membership is both the declaration and the demonstration of Kingdom citizenship. When we choose to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior, we are made alive in Him—no longer strangers and aliens, but citizens of His Kingdom and members of His household (Eph. 2:19).

To belong to a local church is to root that identity in a place and among a people. Membership is not about status, but stewardship; not about access, but participation. It is how we take responsibility for our own formation and the formation of others as we walk the way of Jesus together.

“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body—so it is with Christ.”

— 1 Corinthians 12:12

WHAT YOU ARE COMMITTING TO

MEMBERSHIP COVENANT

Commitment to Be Active in Discipleship

Membership at LIFEGATE is an intentional commitment to live the Made Alive Life in this local church, letting Jesus form you through the shared practices and rhythms God has given us here. We are a people of practice, and we commit to grow in the 12 Walks of the Made Alive Life as our way of apprenticeship to Jesus, not as a checklist, but as a lived pathway of communion with God, community with His people, and commitment to His Kingdom. By grace, we take responsibility for our own formation and the formation of others as we walk this way together.

Commitment to Be Active in the Church

As members of LIFEGATE, we covenant together to walk in the following ways:

  1. PRESENCE: We choose to be present with God and His People. We show up fully because the local church is where God forms us, and where our presence should be felt. We prioritize relationships and fellowship because transformation happens in relationship, often around a table.

  2. PRAYER: We live as people who seek God’s presence and power in all things. Prayer is not our last resort, it’s our first response. We want everything we do to begin and end with seeking God’s presence and power.

  3. SERVICE: We offer our time, talents, and hearts to build up the body of Christ. This church isn’t built on the talent of a few, but on the sacrifice of many, so we serve with humility, not spotlight. We carry shared weight, steward what God has entrusted, and do the work together.

  4. GENEROSITY: We give freely and joyfully as an act of trust and worship. We practice stewardship with open hands, owning nothing and stewarding everything for the mission of God. Our giving is a tangible way we advance the Kingdom together.

  5. HOSPITALITY: We make room for others to belong, be seen, and be known. Unreasonable hospitality is how we honor every story, creating spaces of dignity and empathy. We don’t treat people as problems to be solved, but stories to be entered into, and we make room at the table.

The Heart Behind the Covenant

Membership at LIFEGATE is not about signing a contract—it’s about sharing a calling. It is a mutual promise to walk the way of Jesus together, to be formed into His likeness, and to live as witnesses of His Kingdom in the world.

Together, we are the household of God—living stones being built into a spiritual house (1 Pet. 2:5).

Together, we are a people Made Alive in Christ.
